Deepak Gurnani was born and raised in India. He moved to Singapore in 1991 and became a Citizen in 2003. When he first moved to Singapore, he set up Dishema International, an export company trading in electronic products. Deepak subsequently helped set up KAD Entertainment in 1999 and is now the chairman of this company, which distributes Telugu language films worldwide, and is considered a pioneer in this industry for its overseas distribution, online ticketing platform, online DVD sales and video on-demand services.
Deepak is also an active member of the Sindhi community, and was the former President of the Singapore Sindhi Association. He also chaired the 14th International Sindhi Sammelan, a world-wide Sindhi conference, in 2007. Deepak is a seasoned entrepreneur and angel investor based in Singapore with decades of experience in managing and investing in fast growing companies in India and Singapore. He is an angel investor and Director of Zimplistic Invention – a Singaporean company which has invented the world’s first automatic roti maker.
